For responses to some of our most frequently asked questions, please see below.
For everything else, a member of the team will be in touch in due course. Please note, due to the volume of emails and applications we receive, we may not be able to respond to your query immediately but will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible.
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS:
The deadline for submission of applications is the 12th of July 2020.
If we are interested in progressing your application, a member of the team will be in touch via phone or email to discuss this with you.
You may hear from us at any point between now and the end of August 2020. If you do not hear from us by the end of August 2020, it unfortunately means your application has been unsuccessful for this series. For any future series, you must resubmit a separate application.
If you have already submitted an application, but no longer want to be considered, please let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and we will remove your details from our database.
SUBMISSION OF FITNESS VIDEOS
Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, we have asked all applicants to remotely record and submit three elements of our standard fitness test, which under normal circumstances would be carried out in person. You may have read this on the application form or via a separate email which has been sent to all applicants who applied before the 05th of May 2020.
The fitness videos must be recorded as three separate files and submitted with your application, or via the additional questionnaire link which was sent to all applicants who applied before the 05th of May 2020. Each video must be recorded continuously and submitted unedited.
We are keeping the deadline for submission of fitness videos open until the 12th of July. However, if you are contacted by a member of the production team who want to discuss progressing your application, at that point we will request that you submit your fitness video asap – i.e. within 7 – 10 days from the date of that phone call.
If you cannot complete the fitness test remotely due to the pandemic or for other health reasons, the production team will discuss this with you on an individual basis and it does not mean you are automatically discounted from progressing. However, please note that completing all elements of the fitness test is a basic requirement of participation, and you may not fully progress onto the course until these are completed.
For responses to common questions about the fitness test videos, please see below:
- FULL PRESS UPS – a minimum of 44 in two minutes. These must be completed in the full plank position for both men and women. You may take a rest during this period, as long as you complete the minimum of 44 within two minutes and your video is continuous and unedited. If you can complete more than 44, continue until you reach your maximum within two minutes.
- FULL SIT UPS – a minimum of 50 in two minutes. Legs should be bent with feet flat on the floor, knees shoulder width apart and hands crossed over chest or by your temples. You may not have your arms above your head. You may use weights to anchor the feet to the ground. You may take a rest during this period, as long as you complete 50 within two minutes and your video is continuous and unedited. If you can complete more than 50, continue until you reach your maximum within two minutes
- 1.5 MILE RUN: You must complete a 1.5 mile run in 9 minutes and 30 seconds. Please note this is 1.5 miles and not 1.5 KMS.
We advise that you download a running app such as Strava to record your results. You are permitted to use other apps, although we would ask that you please use Strava where possible.
We MUST be able to verify that you have completed the run in the required time, therefore just a screen shot of your results will not suffice. In order to verify that it is you, we ask that you request a household member or friend to record you doing the run. If this is not possible, please try to record yourself via selfie video doing the run. You can use the screen record option on your phone which allows you to flip between your camera and the running app so you can record yourself running and record your results.
If you do not have access to a public park or available road space, you are permitted to complete this run on a treadmill or track.
If for any reason you are having problems uploading your fitness videos or accessing your application, please submit your videos via WeTransfer to email@example.com and a member of the team will add the videos to your profile.
Please note, there are two other requirements to the fitness test which must also be completed as part of the selection process. These will be discussed at a later stage when the production team are progressing applications.
